Interreligious and Interconvictional Dialogue from a Woman’s Perspective

Dear Members of Andante and Friends,
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the next Andante Study Days. As Andante is a member of the Conference of INGO’s at the Council of Europe, the topic of the study days in 2023 will be one of the focal themes of this organisation: Interreligious and Interconvictional Dialogue. We are convinced that knowing each other is the beginning of understanding each other and is the cornerstone of building bridges.
Our keynote speakers – Dorothea Sattler, Gabriela Frey, Ayşe Coşkun, Patricia Stoat and Zuzanna Radzik – are experts on interreligious dialogue. With their various backgrounds and experiences they will help us understand differences and find common ground for the wellbeing of all and for united actions. Workshops, a talk with a representative of the Jewish community and a cultural evening at a Muslim community of Augsburg as well as a thematic sightseeing tour will add to the integrated approach.
The final programme will be published in September.
The Study Days will start on Wednesday, 25 th October 2023, with dinner and end on Sunday, 29 th October 2023 after lunch.

Participation
All women from all levels of the Andante member organisations are invited – from the local, the regional, the diocesan and the national levels, as well as Friends of Andante and other interested women to come to the Study Days and so make it a meeting of diversity and learning from each other. Our working languages are English, French and German. There will be simultaneous translation in these three languages provided. Discussion groups are also in all three languages.

Cultural Highlights
Apart from the encounters with members of the Jewish and one of the Muslim communities of Augsburg, there will be a walking tour through the city of Augsburg, the so called Friedensstadt or City of Peace which is dedicated to foster diversity and prevent segregation and discrimination. Every participant is invited to bring some snacks/specialties from her own country (fully voluntarily) for our participants’ get-together on one evening.

Accommodation
The Exerzitienhaus St. Paulus is situated in Leitershofen, in the outskirts of the beautiful city of Augsburg in Southern Germany. There is a wonderful garden and woods around. You can go for strolls in the lunch breaks, and if the weather is still warm enough we will have the opportunity to have our morning prayers outside.

Travel information
The airports to fly to are Munich airport (MUC) or Memmingen Airport (FMM). Augsburg is also very good reachable by train. As there is public transport to Leiterhofen from the airports and from the main station Augsburg no special transfer will be organised. The registered participants will get detailed travel directions in an information letter some weeks before the Study Days.

Costs / Participation fee
Participation fee 700 €
Member Organisations from Eastern Europe 150 €
The real price p.p. is approximately 850 €. We would be very grateful to all those who can afford to pay the full unsubsidised fee of 850 Euros. The participation fee includes lodging, all meals, coffee/tea during the breaks, interpretation and technical services, and the excursions.
In Leitershofen, there are more double rooms than single rooms available. Please let us know if you have somebody with whom you would like to share a room, of if for any (medical reason) you need a single room.
